The sad truth of the internet is that if you don’t talk to your kids about sex, then everyone else will. One of our TheSexTalk.com speakers actually did a study that found when parents don’t talk to their kids about sex, the kids will “hire porn” to teach them.
It’s sad, but it’s true!
Your kids need to know the truth about sex, so they don’t find it’s counterfeit in pornography. And you are best suited to talk to them. Start with a simple question that can, at least, get the conversation going. We want your kids to feel comfortable talking to you about sex.
For instance, one of the dads in our video course noticed that the television said the word “sexy” with one of his children around. Later in the week, he asked his young child, “Hey, what do you think sexy means?”
That got the conversation started, and it set the stage for that dad to be a safe person for his child to talk to about sex.
Think about a simple way to get the conversation started today! It will protect your kids from pornography in ways you wouldn’t expect, and it will communicate to your kid that everything (even SEX) is safe to talk about with my parents.
